As part of the Greening the Hubs project, driving meaningful change starts with understanding the current landscape. That’s why we’ve launched a new survey focused on the sustainability practices of cultural and creative hubs. This effort goes beyond simply mapping existing initiatives—it aims to uncover the key barriers organizations face, the digital tools they rely on (or lack), and the broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues shaping their operations.
At the heart of this initiative is the need to build capacity. We're looking closely at where knowledge gaps exist—particularly when it comes to embedding sustainability into everyday decisions. From production and energy use to mobility and stakeholder engagement, we want to understand what’s missing so we can design training that’s both relevant and actionable.
The insights gathered from the survey will directly inform the creation of a hands-on training program for sustainability managers in the cultural and creative sectors. Tailored to the real needs of the field, the program will equip participants with the tools, skills, and confidence to implement sustainability strategies that are both practical and impactful.
This is not just about identifying problems. It’s about co-creating solutions, rooted in evidence, tailored to the sector’s reality, and scalable across Europe’s diverse creative ecosystems.
